About Us
Since our inaugural jewellery store’s establishment in 2013, nestled in the heart of Royal Leamington Spa, our journey has been one of resilience and growth. Supported by our unwavering dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, we have not only endured but flourished. Such triumphs have set us in motion to expand our horizons, leading to the inception of our second store in the vibrant town of Kenilworth.
From Humble Beginnings to a Family of Jewellers
Fifteen years ago, Richard began his journey in the heart of Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter. Starting out as a runner for a busy repair company, he didn’t know then that he was taking the very first steps toward building something truly special. Over time, he moved into sales, gradually mastering the craft of jewellery and developing a deep appreciation for the beauty, history, and emotional value that each piece can hold.
In 2013, with a vision of doing things differently, Richard moved to Leamington Spa and opened Shires Gold – a small but passionate business focused on repairs, watch batteries, and precious metals. That foundation paved the way for something even bigger.
By 2017, Richard’s dream had evolved into The Jones Family Jewellers – a name that reflects not just the personal commitment behind the brand, but also the importance of connection, care, and tradition. From day one, our goal has been to combine exceptional craftsmanship with a heartfelt, personal approach. Because to us, jewellery is about more than sparkle – it’s about meaning, memory, and making people feel special.
As our customer base grew, so did our ambitions. We expanded our collections, introduced new designers, and opened a bespoke workshop upstairs, where our goldsmiths now bring custom designs and repairs to life with incredible detail and passion.
Like many small businesses, the Covid-19 pandemic was a real test – but with the unwavering support of our customers, and a commitment to serving those who still needed us, we made it through. And we’ve emerged stronger, more grateful, and more inspired than ever.
In early 2024, we proudly opened our second shop in Kenilworth – a huge milestone for our team and a sign of what’s possible when community and creativity come together. And the story doesn’t end there…
We’re incredibly excited to share that on 3rd May 2025, we’ll be opening our third store in Satchwell Court, Leamington Spa. This new space is a continuation of our journey – and another way to bring beautiful jewellery, thoughtful service, and expert advice even closer to our customers.

Fifteen years ago, Richard began his journey in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. Starting as a runner for a repair company, he gradually delved into sales, mastering his craft along the way.
In 2013, Richard ventured to Leamington and launched ‘Shires Gold’, specialising in repairs, watch batteries, and precious metals. Time passed and in 2017, ‘The Jones Family Jewellers’ was born — a realisation of Richard’s dream to become a true jeweller. With a deep passion for his trade and a genuine love for people, Richard brings more than just jewellery to his customers — he brings smiles, stories, and an experience like no other.

Phil is our in-house expert when it comes to wedding bands and engagement rings. With over 15 years of experience helping couples find the perfect rings to celebrate their love, Phil brings both knowledge and genuine care to every appointment.
Whether you’re planning a proposal, preparing for your big day, or simply looking for something special, Phil is here to guide you through every step — no pressure, just honest advice and a friendly face.
Phil also handles estate clearances and jewellery purchasing,

Mike
With over 41 years of experience in the jewellery trade, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for what he does. There’s not much in the world of jewellery he hasn’t seen or worked with – his experience spans almost every corner of the trade.
At our Kenilworth shop, Mike is your go-to expert for everything from pearl and bead restringing to simple jewellery repairs. He’s also a dab hand at fitting new watch batteries and straps, making adjustments, and even replacing clock movements to give cherished timepieces a new lease on life.
Mike is known for his careful and considered approach to jewellery repair assessments and quotations. He also carries out insurance and probate/estate valuations with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
